Manchester’s Most Stylish Bars

2-5 Minutes

Anyone familiar with Manchester’s scope of bars will know that the city has a lot offer. A far cry from the days of a Morrissey video, Manchester has been rejuvenated into a city of style, a city where the young go and the money follows.

Whether you’re searching the city for the best Old Fashioned, or looking to get in the swing of things at Manchester’s jazz bars. The city is home to some of the funkiest venues in the UK, and just for you, we’ve cherry-picked our top local haunts.

  1. Epernay: Home to what seems a perpetual stock of champagne (believe us, we’ve tried to get to the bottom of it). Epernay sits comfortably on our list as one of the most stylish venues in the city.

  2. Panacea: A firm favourite of ours, Panacea is known on the town as a place of glamour, footballing elites and the super-rich.  You’ll think you’re in London, but the down-to earth bar staff and complimentary nibbles will keep you grounded.

  3. Lammars: If you’re tired of the big city joints, head over to Lammars on the edge of the city in Manchester’s soulful Northern Quarter. Be warned, first timers will want to clear out their apartments and redecorate in the kitschy, off the wall styled décor that Lammars flaunts.

  4. Manchester House - Lounge On 12: Quite simply on another level. 12 to be exact. The Lounge On 12 remains as one of the most well-thought of bars in Manchester. As you can imagine, the Lounge On 12 is the perfect place to enjoy the city lights whilst enjoying a cocktail or two, and their more than happy to accommodate. Guru’s Top Tip- It would be absurd not to try their Apple and Cinnamon Caipirinha – a lovely little kick to the South American classic.

  5. Lock 91 – A city favourite for celebrations. Located just off Deansgate station, Lock 91 is super easy to get to, not so easy to get out. Why? You’ll be bar bound by their amazing cocktails, and if your desired drink isn’t on the menu…They’ve got you covered.

  6. Sinclair’s Oyster Bar – For something a bit more casual and laid back, head over to Sinclair’s. A Manchester institution, this bar has been around since the industrial revolution. With low wooden beams and charming 16th-century decor, this bar will transport you back in time. Don’t expect anything fancy though – beer is the drink of choice here, and it’s cheap. Buy a round of beers and expect change from your tenner!
